When creating secondary users, it is wise to have them create their own account first. This lets them add computers to their own account if they wish to. If they dont have their own account under that e-mail, and are then created as a secondary user, they will not be able to have their own account under that same e-mail. You're unable to connect to Terminal Services on a Windows Server 2008 server that has "Network Level Authentication" enabled, using Remote Desktop Connection, on Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Open Remote Desktop Connection and click on the icon in the title bar and select About.
If About says "Network Level Authentication not supported," then you'll need to turn on Credential Security Service Provider (CredSSP) in Windows XP SP3.
