About Michael Edwards

Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Michael Edwards spent his formative years in the capital Kingston, where he was educated at Campion College.

A voracious reader since childhood, that appetite for books soon transmuted into writing, first poetry, then short fiction, magazine features and other prose forms. In 1991, seeking to increase fellowship among local writers, he founded the Wordsmiths, a writers group which has since metamorphosed to include visual artists under the name Slipstream Collective.

He works extensively in the public relations field and in television, working as writer/researcher for a leading local TV talk show, He is also a Bronze medal awardee -Poetry, in the Jamaica Festival Literary competition (1992).

Michael lives in Kingston with his wife and young son. The poems are taken from Millennium's edge, his second collection. He is also working on his first novel.
